WiFi & Network Problems I Solve

From frustrating dropouts to whole-home coverage gaps, here's what I help with most often. Most homes have more connected devices than ever β€” I'll make sure yours all work together smoothly.

πŸ“Ά

WiFi Keeps Dropping

Constant disconnections are frustrating. I'll find the actual cause β€” router settings, interference, ISP signal, or hardware β€” and fix it properly.

πŸ—ΊοΈ

Dead Zones & Weak Signal

Rooms where WiFi barely reaches? I'll figure out the best approach for your home β€” whether that's repositioning equipment, adding a device, or upgrading to a mesh system.

πŸ”§

Router & ISP Equipment Help

New router from your ISP or one you bought yourself? I'll get it configured properly, secured, and all your devices connected β€” including working with ISP-provided equipment whenever possible.

πŸ–¨οΈ

Printers, TVs & Devices Won't Connect

I'll connect your printer, smart TV, streaming device, or any other gadget to your home network so it works the way it should. See also: Printer Help.

Whole-Home Coverage & Mesh Setup

Some homes genuinely benefit from a multi-point or mesh setup to get consistent coverage throughout. I'll recommend it when it's the right call β€” and set it up properly if you go that route.

Network Security

A properly secured network means a strong unique password, current router firmware, and a few other settings that make a real difference. I'll make sure the basics are handled.

How It Works

Getting your WiFi sorted is easy. I bring everything needed and handle it start to finish at your home.

1

Call, Text, or Message

Tell me what's frustrating you. I'll ask a few questions to understand your setup and what you've already tried.

2

I Come to Your Home

I bring the tools needed to diagnose and fix your network right there β€” including testing signal strength throughout your home.

3

Full Network Check

I work through each layer β€” WiFi coverage, router settings, ISP connection, and individual devices β€” to find where the problem actually is.

4

Everything Connected

Before I leave, every device is connected and working. I'll answer any questions you have about your setup.

Pricing

Straightforward pricing with no hidden fees. You'll know the cost before I start.

In-Home Visit: $100 for the first hour, $75/hr after.

WiFi Setup (flat rate): $199 β€” covers router configuration, security setup, and connecting your devices. This handles most jobs in most homes.

More extensive setups β€” large homes, multiple access points, or significant equipment changes β€” may require additional time. Any extra charges are always discussed upfront before I continue.

On Equipment

I don't sell any equipment. If new gear would help, I'll tell you honestly what fits your home and budget, help you get it if you'd like, and set it up properly. No upselling, no kickbacks.

I also try to work with what you already have before recommending anything new. Many network problems can be solved without buying anything.

One thing worth knowing: if you're currently renting a router or modem from your ISP month to month, owning your own equipment is often a better long-term move β€” and gives you more control. I can walk you through that if it's relevant to your situation.

New to the Area?

Getting everything connected when you move in is much easier than tracking down problems after the fact. I can help set up your network from day one so your whole home is covered and every device is online. This is part of the broader in-home tech support offered by In-Home Total Tech.

Common Questions

Things people often ask about home network help.

That's one of the first things I check. The issue could be your WiFi signal, your router settings, the connection from your ISP, or something with a specific device. I'll test each layer to figure out where the problem actually is β€” rather than guessing and hoping.

Usually yes. I work with ISP-provided equipment whenever possible. Some ISPs do lock certain settings, but there's often still a lot I can do to improve performance and reliability even with their gear.

If switching to your own equipment would give you more control or better results, I'll mention it β€” but I'll always work with what you have first.

No. I don't sell any equipment. If something new would genuinely help, I'll tell you what I'd recommend and why, help you get it if you want, and set it up properly. There's no financial incentive for me to push new gear on you.

Yes β€” this is a common request. Getting your network set up properly when you move in is much easier than troubleshooting months later. I can get everything connected from day one, or sort out problems if a recent move has left things inconsistent.

Yes. Getting all your devices connected and staying connected is part of what a solid home network setup covers. Printers especially have a knack for falling off the network after any change to the router or WiFi password.

Yes. A properly set-up network includes a strong unique password, current firmware on your router, and a handful of other settings that make a real difference. I'll make sure the basics are in good shape.

Many homes don't need new equipment. Some repositioning, a settings change, or a minor upgrade can solve the problem. I try to work with what you have before recommending anything new.

That said, in some homes β€” especially larger ones with thick walls or multiple floors β€” a mesh or multi-point setup genuinely is the right answer. I'll be honest with you about which situation you're in.

That's fine β€” you don't have to know before calling. Just describe what's frustrating you and I'll figure out the rest from there.
